Abstract: The three R’s of the environment, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle the solid waste, generates significant environmental, economic and health benefits. This work proposes a novel intelligent domestic garbage bin for recyclable materials collection and monitoring, based on the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT refers to the networked interconnection of everyday objects, which are equipped with intelligence. The suggested integrated system uses the intelligence of an Arduino microcontroller and two sensors, and creates the IoT Hub by sending the measurements of the sensors to a remote database. The system manages automatically and on-line the garbage bin, providing information regarding the weight and waste level via a friendly web interface. The web page gathers statistics and rewards, informs and warns the users depending on the amount of recyclables that they have collected in a certain time range.

An Efficient Approach of Extracting Maximum Power from PV Cell under Partial Shading Condition

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2017.51202
Abstract: The Perturb & Observe (P&O) algorithms are widely used in control of MPPT due to their simple structure and reduced number of necessary measured parameters. This algorithm has the drawback that after reaching the maximum power point its starts deviating continuously all the time resulting in substantial amount of power loss at maximum power point. Although this algorithm is quite simple to implement and requires only one voltage sensor, the cost of implementation of this algorithm is low. On the other hand the Incremental Conductance (IC) method has the advantage over the Perturb & Observe as it does not oscillate around the maximum power point under rapidly varying environmental conditions. The disadvantage of the Perturb and observe method to track the peak power under fast varying atmospheric condition is overcome by INC method. The INC can determine that the MPPT has reached the MPP and stop perturbing the operating point. If this condition is not met, the direction in which the MPPT operating point must be perturbed can be calculated using the relationship between dl/dV and –I/V Increment size determines how fast maximum power point is tracked. Fast tracking can be achieved with bigger increments but the system might not operate exactly at the maximum power point and oscillate about instead. This method has complex circuitry, accuracy of the method depends on the iteration size, which is usually fixed for the conventional incremental conductance method In this paper the proposed scanning MPPT adjusts the duty cycle corresponding to the global maxima. The power obtained from the proposed controller is higher and non-oscillatory around the MPP compared to P&O and INC controllers which fails under partial shading condition when multiple peaks come into play. The scanning technique algorithm determines the maximum power delivering capacity of the panel at a given operating condition and controls the PCU to extract the same from the PV panel.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2017.51203
Abstract: The BMC image de-noising naturally corrupted by noise is a classical problem in the field of image processing. Additive random noise can easily be removed using simple threshold methods. De-noising of natural images corrupted by various noises like Gaussian noise using wavelet techniques are very effective because of its ability to capture the energy of a image in few energy transform values. The wavelet de-noising scheme soft and hard thresholds the wavelet coefficients arising from the standard coif and bior wavelet transform. In this paper, it is proposed to investigate the suitability of different wavelet bases and the size of different neighborhood on the performance of image de-noising algorithms in terms of entropy.
Abstract: Genome Sequencing is the way of figuring out the sequence of genome. The genome sequence will represent a valuable shortcut, helping scientists find genes much more easily and quickly. A genome sequence contains some clues about where genes are, even though scientists are just learning to interpret these clues.Scientists also hope that being able to study the entire genome sequence will help them understand how the genome as a whole works—how genes work together to direct the growth, development and maintenance of an entire organism.knowing the entire genome sequence will help scientists study the parts of the genome outside the genes.Java is a simple robust, effective programming language which has been used by many programers, industries, developers all over the world.Using the platform independent nature of java we can develop various applications according to the specification given by the user in an efficient manner.our idea is to use the java features to predict the genome sequence of various individuals. With the help of various genome sequences copied from EBI and NCBI the given input sequence is examined and figured out.
Abstract: The rapid development of the Internet has caused the problem of “information overload”, especially in the field of information retrieval. Since mathematical retrieval as part of information retrieval, this paper proposed a model of interest recommendation for it. First, the public data sets of mathematical expressions were normalized for the mathematical formulas which have the same computing meaning but different parameters. Secondly, the concept of fuzzy set was employed for making the system to know the similarity of users according to the different habits of each user in the multi features fuzzy pattern through integrating these attributes to form a “user-formula” scoring matrix for calculating the closeness degree between users. And the nearest neighbor set of the target user is obtained. Finally, using the fuzzy elements of score and the corresponding neighbors to predict the score of the target user with non- scoring formulas to form the recommendation list of interested formulas through the further filtering of the threshold factor, and realize the personalized recommendation for the mathematical expressions at last. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by the experiment and data.

Improved Active Power Filter Performance with Four Leg Voltage Source Inverter for Renewable Power Generation Systems

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2017.51206
Abstract: Renewable generation special effects on power quality problems due to its nonlinearity, in view of the fact that solar generation plants and wind power generators are interconnected to the grid through high power static converters. The non-linear loads also produce harmonics that deteriorates power quality problems of the system. The active power filter has been proves the effective method to mitigate harmonic currents. In this paper an active power filter with four leg voltage source inverter using predictive control scheme is implemented, which will compensate current harmonic components and unbalanced current generated by single phase non-linear loads. A simple mathematical model of the active power filter is designed with the help of predictive control algorithm. The compensation performance of the proposed active power filter and the connected control scheme under steady state and transient operating conditions is demonstrated through simulation results using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2017.51207
Abstract: Since that it can enhance the Region Of Interest (ROI), saliency detection is important for imaging processing. Most saliency detection approaches are based on feature contrast to find the salient area. However, for the similar contrast between background and foreground, the traditional approaches always fail to differentiate these regions of the background from the foreground. To solve the similar contrast problem, this paper presents a novel method for color image segmentation based on improved convex hull and color contrast. Firstly, the method takes superpixel as the basic processing unit, and measures the contrast saliency map based on color contrast with uniqueness and spatial distribution. Secondly, it calculates convex hull using color boosted Harris corner points which was improved by FH algorithm. Based on the improved convex hull, the center saliency map is obtained. The final saliency map is constructed using the contrast saliency map and the center saliency map. Finally, the object is segmented out from the final saliency map using Otsu method. Compared with several state-of-the-art methods on MSRA 1000 and ECSSD dataset, the proposed method achieves better performances in visualization, precision and recall.
