DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7601
Abstract: This paper presents a low cost DC-DC converter design for uninterruptible power supply for Mini Telecommunication Tower (MTT) utilizing solar power as its main energy source. The proposed design is based on boost topology switched mode power supply with a simple voltage control mode controller but maintain good efficiency in its operation. This converter is set to operate at high switching frequency in order to produce a decent and high power-to-volume ratio design. Passive low pass filter is implemented to produce a very low ripple output voltage in the design. Experimental results show that the proposed converter interacts very well with the constructed choke design. Output voltage is regulated at 48V and switching frequency is set at 30 kHz to minimize the switching stress and conduction losses. Practical implementation of the converter shows that the converter operates effectively using commercial 18V solar panel and only produces 20mVp-p ripple output voltage which is considered good for a regulated DC output.

Abstract: Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries are participated in the regulation of power flow in grid through battery charger. In this paper Bidirectional battery charger of 12-V,4A, 32W is proposed. The Bidirectional battery charger circuit comprises of two-stage conversion i.e. DC-AC and AC-DC conversion. Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) converter is used for Bidirectional AC-DC conversion. The battery charger can convert three phase convenient power to charge the batteries of vehicles by providing 12-V, 4A . Likewise, the battery charger can discharge back from the connected battery to the load when there is power demand of load in the grid.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7603
Abstract: Matrix Converters (MC) are reduced voltage source converters equipped for giving variable voltage variable recurrence at the yield. Contrasted and customary topologies the MC does not require a middle of the road dc interface and furnishes sinusoidal yield waveform with least higher request music. To yield higher RMS O/P voltage, it is proposed to utilize Space Vector Modulation (SVM) calculation for the voltage control of converter. This calculation utilizes a less complex technique than the other control calculations to control the info power factor. Also, it has lower exchanging misfortunes and simple execution. Reproduction has been executed for different yield frequencies at solidarity info power factor. The recreation aftereffects of yield voltage waveforms are given their spectra.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7604
Abstract: The paper presents the development of a system of soldier health care. It consists of two unit’s viz., “Solider unit” and “Server unit”. The wireless technology is used in our project for the communication. We are using a programmable IC, with a RAM memory and ROM which is of Flash type, to control the operations.GPS is interfaced with the Solider Unit which sends the current location of the soldier in the battle field, to the server unit, module. The receiver in the server unit receives the signal and tracks the location. Heart beat sensor and temperature sensor are attached with the soldier unit, to check if the soldier is alive or dead, and sends the information to the server unit. In any emergency situation soldier can contact the server by giving a request through keypad interfaced with the unit. To prevent inactive the body part for examples finger, heart, leg& hand due to heavy snow. Thermoelectric cooling uses the Peltier effect to create a heat flux between the junctions of two different types of materials which is wearied by soldier for worm up. LCD display shows the status. The server unit monitors via Lab VIEW (PC).LCD display shows the status.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7605
Abstract: This paper proposes a solar PV connected into the single-phase grid connected system with Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA) for tracking the Global maximum peak point. Boost converter is connected to the grid for energy management system. This proposed scheme provides output with improved power quality under the nonlinear load conditions. Program analysis was implemented to find the peak point under various temperature and radiations. The output of the grid voltage and current can be monitored and compared with inverter output. Depends on the change in voltage and current the duty cycle of the dc-dc converter will change by HS algorithm. This proposed work involves PV panels connected in series to track the maximum peak point. The time varying radiation and temperature are fed as the inputs to the PV panel and the normal harmonic search algorithm is used for Maximum Power tracking. It generates a reference PV voltage and from the reference voltage, an optimum duty cycle (β) for the maximum peak is generated. The optimal duty cycle ratio will gives the required output power under nonlinear conditions.

DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7606
Abstract: As an intention to meet the growing energy demand and to change from all costly fossil fuel sources, many countries have promoted renewable energy source. PV costs are dropping and a lot of attractive projects have resulted throughout the world. Furthermore, the easy and quick implementation of Solar PV gives it a competitive advantage over other renewable energy sources. A MPPT technique is implemented to the system to track the maximum power point of PV. This paper presents a comparative study of seven conventional Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms. Their performance is evaluated using the simulation tool called Simulink. In particular, this study compares the behaviors of each technique in the presence of solar irradiance. The Results show that Hill Climb, Perturb and Observe and Incremental Conductance generate much more energy under constant condition. And also that the MPPT Constant Current does not vary under the change of irradiation and has a fast response to reach a steady state compared to the other ones.

Abstract: Boost dc-dc converters are employed to uplifting the level of voltage from input to a higher output level. This paper presents a review on voltage boosting techniques and their application for step-up dc-dc converter. These boosting techniques comprise switched capacitor, voltage multiplier, multistage, magnetic coupling and switched inductor (voltage lifting). All of these techniques consider demerits and merits depending on applications in term of efficiency, reliability, cost, power density and complexity. Due to many difficult topologies and additional components, these techniques can not to define frame work of boost dc-dc converter. Therefore, boost dc-dc converter present clear picture to clarify several techniques of boosting up the voltage.

Abstract: Fuel cells have conceivable to mask a key execution in the motility of future. This study substitutes a new blueprint topology for fuel cell power generation in passable to surplus the eminently reliable relevance power. Owing to the fuel cell has lesser voltage at output it demands to be boosted by a step-up dc to dc converters for the idealization of later inverter. The paper substitutes different topography of dc to dc converters which have individual advantages for fuel cell power generation. Afterward, modified SEPIC converter is used for the generation of fuel cell power which will substantiate the reflect of using modified SEPIC in preference of other dc to dc converters.

Atul Kunpara, Dr. Vithal Kamat
DOI: 10.17148/IJIREEICE.2019.7609
Abstract: Voltage source converter is the bonding part between renewable energy source and power grid to transfer electricity. When a renewable power source is connected to the far end of distribution system, the grid will become non ideal and possess the considerable amount of impedance. In this paper the effect of grid side impedance on operation of Voltage Source Converter (VSC) is presented. It is shown that for weaker grid, stable power transfer ability of VSC reduces as grid impedance increases. To demonstrate grid impedance effect on operation of VSC, Matlab simulation results are presented.
