Current Fed Isolated Dual Half Bridge Converter With Low Input Current Ripple and Improved Efficiency

Abstract: A high step-up current-fed resonant converter is required for interfacing the sustainable power sources, such as PV panels and fuel cells, which are characterized by low-voltage high-current output and have strict current ripple requirement. A DC DC resonant converter with intermediate AC link provides higher gain with soft switching abilities. LCC resonant converters provide high voltage gain with better transformer utilization. But due to the presence of resonance, there will be circulating energy which is carried by the split capacitors. This circulating energy will increase input current ripple, conduction losses. Considering the necessity of high voltage boosting function with low input current ripple and low circulating energy, the most appropriate converters are current fed full bridge or push-pull converter with output voltage doublers. Since the converter efficiency can be considerably improved by reducing the count of the primary switches and implementing a transformer of a simple structure, a double inductor push-pull converter was selected. The resonant tank absorbs self-winding capacitances of transformer and junction capacitances of rectifying diode into the resonant capacitor. Thus current spikes get suppressed within the resonant circuit. In order to further improve the efficiency, voltage double circuit is applied to the output rectifier, respectively. This proposed system will reduce the circulating energy, since double inductor push-pull converter will act as an isolated double boost converter. This system is proposed with an expectation of improved efficiency, low input current ripple and low circulating current. A simulation of the proposed system is modeled with input voltage of 30V and output voltage of 380V is realized in MATLAB/Simulink. The system guarantees high voltage gain and efficiency.

Abstract: The performance of fully-depleted Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) Four Gate Transistor (G4-FET) and Gate-All- Around (GAA) MOSFETs are investigated. Threshold voltage, Subthreshold Swing (SS), Drain Induced Barrier Lowering (DIBL), maximum drain current are calculated and compared.
Abstract: The project is design to build an obstacle avoidance robotic vehicle using ultrasonic sensors for its movement and a line following robotic vehicle using infrared sensor for obstacle detection and also a speed behavioural robotic vehicle using speed sensors to detect the speed of robot for dispensing the water to plant saplings accordingly. The Line follower robot is a mobile machine that can detect and follow the line drawn on the floor. Generally, the path is predefined and can be either visible like a black line on a white surface with a high contrasted color or it can be invisible like a magnetic filed. Definitely, this kind of Robot should sense the line with its Infrared Ray (IR) sensors that installed under the robot. After that, the data is transmitted to the processor by specific transition buses. Proposes robotic vehicle that has an intelligence built in it such that it directs itself whenever an obstacle comes in its path. This robotic vehicle is built, using a micro-controller of AT mega 8 family. An ultrasonic sensor is used to detect any obstacle ahead of it and sends a command to the micro controller. Depending on the input signal received, the micro- controller redirects the robot to move in an alternate direction by actuating the motors which are interfaced to it through a motor driver.

Abstract: The number of on-road traffic accidents is escalating every day and a system to monitor these and take required actions is the need of the hour. This paper proposes a model that can effectively detect accidents and report the part of the traffic video containing the accident to the nearest set of hospitals. It uses Gaussian Mixture model to detect vehicles and mean shift algorithm to track their movement, upon which an accident is presumed to occur based on the values of three parameters of the vehicle; position, acceleration and direction of motion of the vehicle. If the thresholds of the aforementioned values are exceeded and accident is detected, then the video in the time frame of the accidents is rendered to the nearest registered hospital.

Coupled-Inductor-Inverse High Step-Up Converter With Voltage Multiplier

Abstract: The proposed converter includes a three winding coupled inductor inverse circuit combined with a boost converter. Hence the output voltage can be increased by reducing the turns ratio of the coupled inductor. Main switch suffers from high voltage stress due to the leakage inductance of the coupled inductor. A voltage multiplier circuit could further increase the voltage gain and output power. Voltage multiplier circuit can also reduce the voltage stress across the main power device. A clamping circuit consisting of a diode and capacitor could reduce the leakage inductance energy. The smooth operation of the proposed system is realised by sinusoidal pulse width modulation. A simulation of the proposed system is modelled and evaluated with desirable results in MATLAB/Simulink.

Abstract: The modern technology has increased the standard of living for the humans. There has been an emerging demand for quick and easy payment of bills in supermarkets. Everyone in their life have craves for a quality in everything they use daily lives. This project describes how to build an automated and time saving system for the world of retail which will make shopping experience impetuous, customer friendly and secure. So, this has resulted in large crowds at shopping malls which have led to long lines at the billing counter because the cashier has to scan every product item and then enter it into the billing record. The prevailing billing system is a bit time consuming. So by thinking of inventing a remedial electronic product to catch-up with this problem. “Automated shopping trolley for billing system” is better approach for the above said problem. This is based on ATmega328 Controller fitted with a LCD and RFID reader and a wireless technology called Zigbee. The LCD and Zigbee modules make the wireless network to work easily between a certain ranges. An innovative product with social acceptance is the one that aids the comfort, convenience and efficiency in everyday life. The brief description of its operation is, when you pick a product and drop it into the trolley, the RFID reader scans the product’s unique ID and its price. And it gets displayed on the LCD screen. So after customer has finished with the shopping he/she has to visit the counter and pay the bill as displayed on the LCD screen fitted on the trolley. This will save the time that was earlier being consumed to scan each item.

Abstract: Deep Learning has emerged as a new area in machine learning and is applied to a number of signal and image applications. The main purpose of the work presented in this paper, is to apply the concept of a Deep Learning algorithm namely, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) in image classification. In this paper we built a simple Convolutional neural network on image classification. This simple Convolutional neural network completed the image classification. Our experiments are based on benchmarking datasets minist and cifar-10. On the basis of the Convolutional neural network, we also analyzed different methods of learning rate set and different optimization algorithm of solving the optimal parameters of the influence on image classification.

Abstract: With the vast amount of data available today, organizations are looking for more accurate ways of using this data for improving productivity and user experience. Recommender system is one such technology that pro-actively suggests items of interest to users based on their objective behavior on their explicitly stated preferences. Recommendation Engine is one of the most important parts of all commercial and social websites. Whenever a user searches for a book, music, movies or any other product, recommender systems play a huge role in suggesting items that are similar. Recommendations in general are of two types, content based and user based. This paper surveys Recommendation Engines using Collaborative filtering techniques.
Abstract: Now a day's Security has become an important issue everywhere. Internet of things can prove that technology has rapidly increasing day by day. Nowadays, the usage of internet had been widely used around the world. A development of home security system using internet of things with sensors need PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor), fire detection sensor, and temperature sensors are needed. The PIR sensor will detects a human being moving around within approximately10 m from the sensor. Fire sensor is used to detect the fire from the long distances about 4-6 km. Arduino is a micro controller board based on the ATmega328p. It has 14 digital input and output pins. In home security system the sensing range of temperature sensor is 45- 85 degrees.

Abstract: Women’s safety is an extremely important issue on the modern day due to the rise in the number of crimes against women. This paper proposes a GPS-based women’s safety system operable through fingerprint. A woman can turn on this system in case she even thinks she would be in trouble by just placing her finger on the scanner and the system now sends her location to the authorized personnel number saved previously in the system through SMS message. The proposed system is microcontroller-based, additionally using GPS sensor with a GSM modem for determination and forwarding the location of the woman in danger.
Feasibility Study of Photovoltaic – Diesel Hybrid Power System as Renewable Energy Source

Abstract: This paper presents a feasibility study of the opportunity to utilize the hybrid power system in Karimun Jawa island, Indonesia. This small island is located at 5° 49′ 9.01″ S, 110° 27′ 32.4″ E with land area about 71.2km². The research was conducted to optimize and support the stand-alone diesel power plant of diesel power Legon Bajak with hybrid solar PV to reduce fuel cost and CO2 emission. The systems are switching each other at least 12 hours a day where the solar PV is generated in daytime and diesel engine generator at night time. From the calculation, it is found that generators increase to 5,400 kW with solar PV-diesel hybrid power systems. By implemented the system, the fuel cost is reduced until 50% from the daily fuel cost around 50 million rupiahs to 25 million rupiahs in a day. By the calculation of the Net Present Value (NPV) and especially the Internal Rate of Return (IRR), this project can be held because the IRR (20.9%) is greater than the discount rate (4.25%) in 3 years.

Efficient Removal of Noise from Image using Non-Linear Filtering

Abstract: An image may contain different types of information related to parameters such as colour and brightness, the irregular variation of which leads to noise in an image. Images often get corrupted by different kind of noise such as Impulse, Gaussian and Salt-and-Pepper Noise, during image acquisition or transmission caused by the digital sensor attempting to record/capture tiny amount of light. Since an image appears in multiple resolutions in different forms, an image can be segmented into different classifying features. As a result, signal and noise can be separated and elimination of noise becomes easier. In this article, a non-linear median filter is preferred, which is found to be useful in reducing not only Impulse Noise but also Gaussian and Speckle Noise. The corresponding analyses are performed on grayscale images, where the results obtained through non-linear filtering are superior to results obtained using Average, Gaussian and Weiner filters.

Abstract: Blindness means lack of visibility. Blindness can be partial or complete. Partial blindness means limited vision. Where complete blindness means one cannot see anything or does not see light. In this paper we have proposed to make a navigation unit for visually challenged persons that is fixed in a walking stick and acts as an Electronic eye for the Blind person so that he/she can move freely and safely. There are so many smart sticks available using ultrasonic, RFID etc. but they have some drawbacks. In this paper we propose a Blind unit that will be helpful for both indoor and outdoor purpose since it has IR sensor for detecting obstacle and it has GSM feature so that the visually impaired person can communicate with customer care unit and can make calls to the near and dear ones. It has a Bluetooth wireless headset also. When the blind person gets an obstacle or reaches the destination appropriate message can be heard over the headset.

Abstract: Due to a lot of usage of coal for many applications has been increasing exposure to fuel price volatility, exacerbating local air pollution, and hastening global climate change. Solar energy as one of the renewable one is derived from natural processes that are replenished constantly. In other words by using renewable source of energy, termination of fossil fuel source and their harms to the environment will be-prohibited. This precious resource is free, inexhaustible resource, yet harnessing it is a relatively new idea. According to the point that solar energy is the energy derived from the sun through the form of solar radiation, in his paper an attempt is made to explore the application of solar i.e., concentrated solar power technique to harness the energy for steam production.

MATLAB offers flexible simulation environment for static voltage stability analysis using PSAT. This paper describes static voltage stability analysis with calculation of two voltage stability indices for American Electric Power Service Corporation network which comprises of 30 bus system.
